Joe Weaver
Awakening the Self with Joe Weaver is an event designed to assist you with your life experience. With the use of meditation, voice toning and group exercises, we will expand the awareness of the Self while calming the mind. These practices will assist in bringing balance and harmony to other aspects of your being.

Our daily lives are filled with many distractions that take our awareness from living in the heart to living in the mind. Divine Love is our true state of being. The more of this love that we embody, the more harmony and balance will be reflected in our daily life. Many call this process "awakening the Buddha from within". This level of consciousness is not outside of our Self; it is within. It is our natural state of being. By letting go of the resistance which causes this separation of Self, we can then be the living, walking radiance of our higher Divine.

Come, enjoy and have fun getting more in touch with your own Self. No experience is necessary.

Come explore a blend of sound, mantra, and asana, creating a unique live musical yoga experience!
Kristin Luna Ray and Joshua Canter of The Bhakti Vinyasa Project have been collaborating the past three years, taking yogis on a journey that awakens the senses and ignites the shakti. Now, they are coming to Raleigh and pairing with our very own Lila Brown to bring you a fusion of sound, mantra and asana, creating a unique, live musical yoga experience.
Kirtan is call and response chanting blended with beautiful music that will calm your mind, open your heart and remind you of your connection to yourself and everything. Kirtan is a form of devotional chanting whose roots go back over 500 years to India. It is a form of Bhakti Yoga (yoga of devotion) and has tremendous power. The singing is accompanied by musical instruments and rhythmic drumming and the audience is encouraged to participate by chanting, clapping and dancing. You will not be able to resist the urge to join in! In its heartfelt expression, kirtan can induce profound states of meditation, bliss and ecstasy.

Nada Yoga means "union through sound." It is the ancient spiritual art and science of inner transformation through sound and tone. Meditation on sound is one universal path to Self Realization, accessible to anyone, and appropriate for people of any religion or spiritual aspiration. Through Nada Yoga, we can fine-tune our bodies and our minds to resonate with the harmony in all of creation, from atoms to cells to flowers and planets. We are surrounded by music in our culture, but most of it does little to help us on the soul level of our being. Through Nada Yoga, we develop insight into the true nature of music and ourselves, effortlessly tapping into the healing power of sound and becoming better equipped to attune ourselves to the varying circumstances in our lives.
Kristin "Luna" Ray is a singer-songwriter, workshop leader, and advocate for wellness and spiritual growth. Over the last five years, she has traveled extensively throughout the world sharing music through performance, workshops, kirtans (call and response chanting), and community work with hospice, and in schools with children. She is currently involved in an artist collaboration entitled the Bhakti Vinyasa Project, a Live Music and Yoga Experience. When she’s not traveling she resides part time in Asheville, NC, and part time in Los Angeles, Florida, and Costa Rica where she has co-founded the True Nature Education Center.

Luna's latest album, Where Heaven Meets the Earth, has just been released. Reflecting her world travels to India, Costa Rica, and Fiji, the album features a number of prominent musicians playing unique world instruments such as the kanun (Turkey), tablas (India), the Oud (Persia), and numerous others. This world music backdrop supports Luna's folk-inspired acoustic guitar, and lyrical storylines that address themes of spiritual growth.

She has collaborated with and shared the stage with recording artists such as Wah!, David Newman, River Guerguerian, Shimshai, Bhagavan Das, and Girish. Luna believes that music is vital to maintaining health. and wellbeing. She is committed to sharing music in a way that awakens a deep remembrance of our truest Self.
"Luna came to our small community and transformed our yoga studio into a sacred dwelling. There is a deep and sincere honesty that is reflected in her music and her presence that brings together people in an extraordinary way." - Valerie Midgett, Owner of Neighborhood Yoga, Boone, NC

"Luna has reached a level of perfection and beauty with her music through her new album." - Wah!, Nationally Renowned Recording Artist, 2009
